Our Impact

We don’t measure success in programs — we measure it in people. In 2025, we directly served 11,285 community members and made a true collective impact felt across Pinellas County. Our reach is more than 28,000.

Every person we serve strengthens the fabric of our entire community. This year’s impact isn’t just ours — it belongs to every donor, volunteer, partner, and neighbor who believed in what’s possible.

In 2027, we will expand our reach through a phased approach to delivering services throughout Hillsborough County.

The mission of the Urban League of Florida Suncoast is to enable and empower African Americans and others who are underserved in our communities to achieve their highest human potential and secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights.

Our vision is to be a trailblazing beacon in the community, building generational wealth, changing systems and shifting mindsets. We will produce resilient social enterprises, programs and initiatives designed to energize, empower, and transform lives.

ULFS's Vision 2030 plan is a comprehensive strategic framework designed to empower African Americans and underserved populations in Pinellas County through increased access to opportunity, resources, and equity.

Mission. Vision. History

The idea of an Urban League affiliate was discussed by members of the St. Petersburg community in 1976. Initial funding was secured through a CETA contract to operate a preemployment orientation program and Mr. James O. Simmons was appointed as the founder and first President & CEO of the Pinellas County Urban League (PCUL) in 1977. National Urban League (NUL) officially certified the affiliate in 1978.
